Red Spruceโ€™s Breeding Protocol

Responsible breeding is our highest demand. We are all about the health and well-being of our dogs. We plan every litter very carefully and select Dam and Sire with a balance between good pedigree/genetics and clear health. We do not carry the dilute gene in any of our lines.

Exceptional trainability and temperament make our puppies the perfect dogs for any scenario. Our dogs love to train and always put 110% ambition into pleasing the handler. Their genetics gives them a natural impulse to mark and line, with high drive and a good nose to deliver exceptional performance.

Dedicated and passion-driven we are devoted to producing healthy and purebred Labrador Retrievers for family and sports enthusiasts. Our Labradors are home-raised and have a calm and loving temperament. They are our family, always come first, and we expect the same from the homes our puppies go to.

COSTS & PROCEDURE

Once a breeding is planned, we open a limited waitlist for each litter. A $200 non-refundable deposit secures your position and is refundable only if a puppy matching your preferred gender and colour is not born. Alternatively, the deposit may be transferred to a future litter.

Once puppies are born and your preference is available, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your puppy. The remaining balance is due no later than pick-up day.

Puppy selections take place at 8 weeks of age, during scheduled appointments. Selection order is determined by Red Spruce Retriever. Families unable to attend their assigned time will forfeit their selection priority. Virtual selections may be arranged for families outside the Maritimes.

Puppy prices range from $2,500โ€“$3,500 CAD + HST, depending on health testing, breeding expenses, stud fees, pedigrees, and titles.
